In lieu of being in SF for a week now, I wanted to start giving little weekly updates. I will be rounding up outfits I wore in the past week, sharing things we saw and did, give some insights, and pass on a little inspiration for the week ahead. Think of this as a little chat, us online friends just catching up.
We have now been in San Francisco for over a week now and we are finally adjusted to our surroundings and learning to like the city. If you have been keeping up with me on Instagram, I have shared some of our experiences this past week, the good and the bad. It has been a whirlwind of changes and I have told everyone I have talked to at this point that I am “learning to like it here.” We have had a few things happen that were less than reassuring, one of them being that Keegan was assaulted over the weekend when he was out with some friends. I have also experienced a really negative vibe from a lot of people here, one of the situations I had shared on IG stories, not to mention I am living in constant fear that I am either going to get a parking ticket or someone is going to break into my car. That being said, I went back and watched some of the things I had shared with you all and realized I have been sharing a lot of the negative parts thus far. It’s sometimes easy to focus on what is going wrong even when so many things can be going right. Part of me felt like I should only be sharing the good things to highlight that moving to a new city is a great thing to do and you should be open to new experiences, but the other part of me knew I wanted to be real and honest, to share my actual experience of being here, not just the IG feed worthy snippets. I came here with no expectations and even though I wish this first week wasn’t as bumpy as it may have been, I am not loosing hope for my summer here.
“Where focus flows,
Energy follows.”
Amongst the challenges, I have have had a lot of things to be thankful for this past week. (TBH I think I am making this sound worse than it is, maybe that is my dramatic side coming out, who knows.) I have met some incredibly kind people, mostly thanks to Instagram, and I’m finally getting to meet some of my online friends! I love our little place, and I have been getting to know the area. One of my favorite things has been finding which grocery stores and Soul Cycle classes I like the best. It’s the little things, right? I have been loving the “work for myself” schedule and have proved to myself that I can quite literally get in a week’s worth of work in just one day. This is why a hourly paid job just doesn’t cut it for me, not to mention I have a control issue, meaning I have to be in charge of most things I do…I know, sometimes it’s not becoming. Needless to say, I am loving my new schedule. Just out here trying to make the dream work!! On Friday I got to go to Pinterest with Keegan and check out their insane set up they have for their employees and on Saturday we got the chance to go down to Menlo Park and visit Facebook and Instagram. That was probably the highlight of my week. The Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp campus is something that you can’t really imagine until you go there. Put it this way, the campus is miles and miles long and they even have a section that is totally like Disneyland, but in the most “we never want you to leave work” way. They have an arcade, spa, state of the art fitness centers, tons of restaurants…honestly, you name it and they have it. Throughout our visit I kept eyeing the vending machines with free Apple products like chargers, keyboards, trackpads, etc. LOL. We also got to see where Zuckerberg sits, which by the way is nothing fancy, he literally has the same desk as everyone else.
“Stay Positive,
but always real.”
This past weekend we also got to try out a few new restaurants and we even went to a fun little place called Coin-op for pinball and arcade games. Below I will share places we ate and went to as well as all of my outfits from this week. All in all, this week has been like a line graph of ups and downs. Some lows but also some highs, and honestly, that’s how life is always going to be. I am excited to see what this next week brings and I look forward to continue sharing everything with you all. xx
P.S. this week I am off to Vegas and then L.A., you won’t want to miss this 😉

Restaurants & Places
Boba Guys
Best milk tea I have ever had to date! They have many locations in the city. Highly recommend.

Zero Zero
This was one of the most recommended places from you guys! I ordered the gnocchi and it was so tasty!

Laksa
We wanted a quick dinner on Sunday so we picked up pho. TBH it wasn’t my favorite so I think I will keep hunting for our go-to pho joint.
Tartine Manufactory
I met up with Hillary, a local photographer here and we had the best little lunch. They make all of their bread in house and oh my gosh, it was so good! Put this on your list for lunch spots!

Mazarine Coffee
Another recommendation from IG! Headed to this coffee shop downtown to get some work done, and their toasts are incredible! If you are downtown and within walking distance, this is a great place to meet up with a friend. They don’t have WiFi, so that’s the only bummer.

Coin-Op
Super fun arcade for those 21+! Keegan was in heaven!

Soul Cycle Castro
I have made the Castro studio my home studio here in SF. I look forward to trying out their other locations, but I just can’t get over how pretty this building is!
Grand Fleurs
I stopped in here and picked up the most beautiful assortment of white roses! They smell SO good and they are the ones that last for over a year!
Sounds like a great adventure….it will only get better😃
